Anti Product Activation Patch for Office XP/2003

Recently I was trying to find a way to get rid of Office 2003 activation on every reinstall of Office, meanwhile googling for this I found this patch.  I was surprized to know that even such a patch exists. Hackers have managed to defeat the Office product activation.

The patch works as follows:

  1. Install your Office XP/2003 as usual.
  2. Download the Patch to your desktop or any other convinient location.
  3. Extract and Run the file ‘Anti-MSOPA.exe’ inside the folder.

It will patch the files ‘mso.dll’ in your [programs]\common files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE11\ and [programs]\common files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE10\mso.dll directories.

P.S. Use at your own risk. I have not tested the procedure.

    Weird, I got this Office 2003 SP2 ISO which I burnt, and it doesn’t give me any activation status, comes activated? :?

    I bought an official version of Office 2003 and activation worked fine at first time. After awhile I reinstalled Windows and Office 2003. And now this activation thing (powered by M$) is not working.

    So, thank you for this patch. That patch made my legal version of Office that didn’t work properly to work properly.

    he dudes and dudettes it works have scanned with avg pro and no viruses or trojans or any other crap has been found to be dodgy so far will be doing a deep system scan for virus trojans spyware etc will keep u all posted

    This patch works through Office SP2. However, I have just downloaded SP3, and now it wants me to activate! So, if you’re running with Anti-MSOPA, do NOT download the latest SP for Office 2003. Maybe this patch can be updated?? Pretty please….?

    Before installing Office SP3, just make a copy of the previously patched file “C:\Program Files>\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office11\mso.dll”, and restore this copy after the installation is completed.

    I haven’t found any problem while using the previous version of mso.dll (from Office SP2).

    I found the file googling and it works, believe my copy of office 03 is original, no sp’s, perfectly happy with 2000 but a co-working sent me an xls file of which I thought was only good with 2003, but it did not work with that either. Then I upgraded, and got this activation message, thanks, the file worked. JP
